PR Reimagined

General Assembly

From inception, public relations professionals have been tasked with inserting clients into the news cycle to build credibility, confidence, and goodwill. As experts, we depend on the media to tell our client’s story. However, with legacy print publications reducing circulation, going straight to digital, and, in many cases, closing down completely, where does this leave journalists? In the era of fake news and digital streaming, even broadcast media is feeling the pain. Many companies have created their own newsrooms and are finding ways to tell their brand’s stories through their exclusive channels. PR Reimagined will bring together sought-after media professionals and thought leaders from different industries to shed light on new and inventive practices that any PR or media specialist can utilize in their own role.

  • Moderator: Lauri Strauss, President, Atlanta Press Club
  • Panelists: Jonathan Landrum, Associated Press & Donna Krache, Georgia State University

2018-02-22 20:00:00 2018-02-22 21:00:00 America/New_York PR Reimagined From inception, public relations professionals have been tasked with inserting clients into the news cycle to build credibility, confidence, and goodwill. He does so with color & light & structure in photographs that are as evocative as they are subtle.” Siegel’s photographs are in many private and corporate collections, including the Ogden Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art and 11 other Southeastern U.S. museums.

Artist Talk: Jerry Siegel

ATL Gallery Collective

Spalding Nix Fine Art hosts an artist talk and book signing with Jerry Siegel at the Atlanta Gallery Collective space in Ponce City Market. The evening’s event showcases Black Belt Color, a monograph featuring images from the photographer’s hometown of Selma, Alabama and the unique cultural landscape of the area, known as the “Black Belt.” William Eiland, director of the Georgia Museum of Art, writes, “These photographs speak of deep attachment, of reasoned critique, of the vagaries of memory…He has stories to tell, a time & place to document & plenty of territory to cover in doing so. He does so with color & light & structure in photographs that are as evocative as they are subtle.” Siegel’s photographs are in many private and corporate collections, including the Ogden Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art and 11 other Southeastern U.S. museums.

Artist Talk: Jerry Siegel @ ATL Gallery Collective

He does so with color & light & structure in photographs that are as evocative as they are subtle.” Siegel’s photographs are in many private and corporate collections, including the Ogden Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art and 11 other Southeastern U.S. museums.

John Elijah Richards started In God We Must and started making rings for friends and family. So it only makes sense to start there with everyone attending this workshop! Elijah is going to give you a glimpse into his first product as a maker. He’ll be walking you through the learning the process behind punching your own custom ring at the right size (and state) that works for you. Register for a workshop, then come out to learn the art behind I.G.W.M.’s staple product and spend some time learning from the man who made it all happen.

Spalding Nix Fine Art hosts and Artist Talk by Landon Nordeman at the Atlanta Gallery Collective. Looking for the eternal in the ephemeral, Nordeman photographs fine art projects and works for both commercial and editorial clients around the world. Though his photographs often appear staged, Nordeman pulls back the curtains and gives viewers a look into the backstage scene at high-profile fashion shows, where his subjects are shown in candid moments that are also surreal and even surprising. His first monograph, Out of Fashion, was published by Damiani in 2016 and was named one of the best Photo Books of 2016 by TIME. Nordeman will be signing copies of Out of Fashion, after his talk.
