Join the City of Atlanta’s Department of Planning and Community Development to celebrate its new pop up studio space, meet the studio team, and participate in other fun activities. Tour the gallery space, compete in an urban trivia contest, participate in neighborhood design activities, and take advantage of book signings. Georgia Conservancy’s Verde! 2016

With summer dresses, seersucker suits and the eco-chic, Georgia Conservancy’s Verde!, hosted by Generation Green, is the first event of the summer and quite possibly the best. Hosted at General Assembly, Verde! is a celebration of conservation in Georgia and recognition of Atlanta’s emerging environmental leaders. This year, Georgia Conservancy will honor Daniel Jessee, REI Atlanta’s Outdoor Programs & Outreach Market Manager, with the annual Longleaf Award for his work in outdoor recreation and advocacy for Georgia’s precious places. Verde! will also include Latin music from the Willie Ziavino and the C.O.T. Band.

Mountain High Outfitters is providing a free StandUp Paddleboard demo series held at Stone Mountain Park every Thursday at 6:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM through July, starting Saturday June 25th. All participants will use Mountain High boards, PFDs, leashes, and paddles. This partnership with Community Farmers Markets brings terrific farmers to The Shed such as Aluma Farm, Cosmos Organic Farm, Dickey Farms, King of Crops, Mercier Orchards, Pearson Farm, Scharko Farms, Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Ag, and Watsonia Farms. Meats will be provided by Brasstown Beef, Grant Wallace, and Four Bellies Farm. Freshly prepared food will be available from Angus Brown, Atomic Ice Cream Sandwich, Farm Burger, Good Food Truck, King of Pops, and Seedy Bars. Or, take some goodies to go from Antonio’s Fresh Pasta, Atlanta Fresh, Bee Wild Honey, Formaggio, Golda Kombucha, La Calavera, Little Tart Bakeshop, Treehouse Milk, and Wanderlust Coffee.
